Obituary

JoAnn Cravens Ballard, born August 19, 1934, passed away March 24, 2023, at her Kanawha City home and entered into the presence of Jesus.

JoAnn was raised in Eskdale, WV, by her loving parents, the late Charles and Effie Cravens, where she attended Leewood Junior High School and then graduated from East Bank High School in 1953.

Left to grieve her passing is her loving husband of 66 years, Charles Melvin Ballad. They raised two sons, Michael and Kent, and also their grandson, Tyler “Kent” Ballard. JoAnn is survived by her brother, Craigo Cravens (Susan).

She was preceded in death by her son, Kent, and her siblings, Sammy “Mose” Cravens (Edy), Hugh Cravens (Janice) and Atlee Nelson.

The family will be holding a private graveside service.
