Obituary

Jo ann greenlee brown, 87, of charleston died at hubbard hospice house tuesday, november 22, 2016.
She was born october 18, 1929 in charleston and was a 1947 graduate of south charleston high school. Joann attended morris harvey college and wv state university. While at morris harvey she became a member of phi alpha mu social sorority. She was also a member of the art club and the university chorus, under the direction of the late harold ewing.
She met her first husband, the late robert b. Greenlee at the university of charleston. They were the parents of the late david r. Greenlee. Mr. And mrs. E. D. Dillon, her parents also preceded her in death.
Jo ann was a member of first presbyterian church for many years. She was employed by
c & p telephone company in the business office for many years located in charleston and south charleston.
She was also a floral designer and gift buyer with her sister, nancy halstead, who with her husband john who had modern hardware in south charleston.
In 1966 joann obtained her west virginia real estate license. She had an avid interest in antiques, music, art and flower arranging. She belonged to several garden clubs and enjoyed teaching flower arranging in the adult education program at st. Albans high school.
She was a forty-five year member of the forts-lee tackett antique club.
She was active in various community activities including, meals-on-wheels, thomas hospital auxiliary, chairman of the keep-a-child in school program at st. Albans high school.
Joann is survived by her husband, lovell brown, jr of charleston; brother and sister-in-law, james e. And bettie dillon of scott depot, wv; sisters; nancy and john halstead of hamilton, montana and susan kelly of concord, new hampshire; step-daughter, jennifer vance of madison, wv and donald r. Greenlee and wife, karen of california and several nephews and one niece.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.M. Sunday, november 27, 2016 at first presbyterian church, leon sullivan way, charleston, wv with dr. Bill mccoy officiating. Burial will take place in cunningham memorial park, st. Albans, on monday at 1:00 p.M.
