Obituary
Joann starcher, 84, of charleston, wv passed away at hubbard hospice house, friday, june 12, 2015 after a long battle with colon cancer. .
She was born in jane lew, wv to the late earl and polly furby.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Joann spent most of her life in the kanawha valley, and loved her flowers especially her roses. She loved to converse with her family and friends and looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, donald starcher and their oldest son, don steven starcher.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law; dan (susanne) starcher, of richmond, va, joe (michelle) starcher of weirton, wv, sam starcher and partner robert of atlanta, ga; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; brother, james earl (judy) furby of weston, wv; daughter-in-law, nancy starcher of keyser, wv; and a half-sister, annabell rock of littleton, colorado.
Joann’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to hospice care, 1606 kanawha blvd, west, charleston, wv 25387-2536.
