Obituary
John Michael Earley, 82, of Wayne, WV, passed away April 17, 2023, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice, Huntington, WV, with loved ones by his side.
Born and raised in Boomer, WV, he is the son of the late Emmitt and Rosemary (Layton) Earley. During his high school years, John was a member of the baseball team, with his mother in attendance for many, if not all, of his games. Immediately following graduation, John joined the United States Air Force. While proudly serving his country, he was a member of the K-9 Corps when stationed in Morocco, as well as other posts. After retiring as an appraiser for the State of West Virginia, he worked with the Wayne County Accessor’s Office for many years.
John is survived by his loving wife, Faye; daughter, Cynthia (Bryson) Cook of Florida; sons, John Michael Earley II of Florida, John Michael Earley Jr. of Sissonville, WV, and Samuel Earley; grandchildren, Alex (Charlotte) Earley of Maine, Abby Earley of New York; Rosemary “Rosie” Cook of Florida, and Laura (Brooks) Wunder of Maryland, along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2023, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 4807 Staunton Avenue SE, Kanawha City, WV, with Father Yesu Golla officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Elmwood Annex Cemetery in Wayne.
Visitation will begin 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.

I am his son Samuel Earley in Deerfield Beach FL. I am sorry to hear of my Father’s passing. My parents divorced when I was a few years old, so I didn’t get to know him much growing up. But recently I had wanted to meet him if I were to be in WV. My love, condolences, and prayers are with all of his family.

I was saddened by Mike’s passing. I worked with him for several years at wv tax department. He was a good man and had many friends who loved his company.
