Obituary

Joshua Travis Hanshaw, aka “Gutt,” 42, of Charleston, WV, passed away unexpectedly on May 9, 2025, at home. He is finally at peace.

Raised in Procious, Clay County, WV, he is the son of Paula Dotson of Charleston and the late Rickey Hanshaw of Procious. Joshua was a carpenter by trade.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Christy D. Hanshaw of Charleston, and grandmothers, Sue Miller of Clendenin and Thelma “Jean” Hanshaw of Procious,

Joshua is survived by his mother; his son, Issac W. Drake of Elkview, WV; nephew, Rickey P. James of Charleston; Uncles Paul Dotson of Charleston and Donnie E. Queen Jr. of Clay County, and too many loved ones and friends to mention.

Plans for a memorial service are incomplete at this time.
