During My Childhood Years, From Ages 8 Through 15, I Spent My Summers At The Lewis Farm Home In Farmville, Nc, Where Vann Lived. He Was Two Years Younger Than I And We Formed A Very Close Brother-Like Relationship. Our Favorite Games Were Playing Batman And Robin As Well As Other Comic Book Characters, Picking On Vann’S Sister Nancy Jane, As Loving Brothers Do, And Also Playing Games With Our Our Collie, Mr. Smith.
In Later Years Our Paths Diverged, Although Charlotte (My Wife) And I Always Kept In Touch With Vann And His Lovely Wife Anne. Much To Our Regret, However, We Are Unable To Make The Final Trip To Attend Vann’S Memorial For Our Own Health Reasons.
We Nevertheless Take Comfort In Knowing That Vann Is Now Re-United With Other Members Of Our Family With Whom We Both Had Such Close Bonds, Including Our Uncle, Jack, Our Aunts, Nancy And Mary Frances And, Above All, With Vann’S Wonderful Mother, Ellen May Carrol, Who Had Such An Important Influence Not Only On Vann’S Life, Of Course, But Mine As Well.
So, With A Fond Farewell, Robin, We Will Always Be Brothers.
With Love And Fondest Wishes To Anne, Sarah, Jim, Nancy Jane, Cousins And Families,
Jimmie (Batman) And Charlotte
