Obituary

Judith marie myers mansfield passed away at home on sept. 28, 2014.

She was born judith marie myers february 6th, 1942. She was a twin born to donald and mildred, nee bedrosian, myers.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister, kaye and her younger brother, dave.

She leaves her husband, alec; her sons, alexander jr. And theodore.

Judy graduated from defiance high school, defiance, ohio a member of the national honor society. She continued that membership throughout her college career at defiance college and her master’s program at west chester state university.

She spent her first year after graduation teaching in napoleon, ohio. She married alexander sr. On august 14, 1965. She then moved to des moines, iowa for what she thought would be a long prosperous life.

Her husband was drafted and subsequently enlisted in the army. He was assigned to the surgeon general’s command and posted to a u.S. Military hospital in phoenixville, pennsylvania. She worked for the army electronics command in philadelphia. While she was working there, she started her master’s program, had a child, and then completed the program while raising the child.

While she was completing her masters, she had another child. After several years, she moved to akron, ohio because of the death of her father-in-law.

She moved to west virginia because an invitation her husband received to work at shawnee hills. She worked as a supervised psychologist with koch psychological associates in various venues in the state.

Her delights were going to the theater, movies, and traveling. She felt her best experiences were seeing niagara falls and with her son theodore in norfolk and virginia beach.

She often spoke fondly of the times she spent with ted that summer and fall. She wanted to see more of the country. Her lists included going to going to yellowstone, the grand canyon and to the grand tetons.

She liked collecting cook books of various diets, her favorite things were trying out recipes that fit her diet.

She expressed many times her desire to move to a warmer climate. She detested snow. She was amazed at the warm winter experienced her first year here. She loved to fly but hated trains. She enjoyed shopping. She liked to get new clothes and to have nice things but not “too expensive.”

mass of christian burial will be held at 12:00 noon saturday, november 29, 2014 at blessed sacrament, south charleston, with father john finnell officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
