Kara Breuning, 42, of West Palm Beach, FL, lost her long-fought battle with addiction on May 5, 2023.

She was born on September 17, 1980, in Morgantown, WV, and attended George Washington High School in Charleston, WV, and West Virginia Institute of Technology in Montgomery, WV. Kara then moved to Florida, which became her permanent home.

Kara will be remembered for her brilliant smile, her wonderful artistic talent, and her great love of animals. She was greatly loved and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her parents, Eugenia Thoenen of Charleston, WV, and Carsten Philip Breuning (Vinni) of Copenhagen, Denmark. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Grace H. Thoenen of Charleston, WV. Other survivors include her uncle, David Thoenen; aunt, Maria Ahmadi Thoenen; and cousins Shayni Thoenen and James (Jennifer) and Jordyn Mirgoli, all of Raleigh, NC.

There will be no visitation or funeral.

A private family burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley, WV.

We hope that anyone wishing to remember Kara will donate in her honor to either a non-profit organization that is involved in educating and/or treating individuals who are facing their own struggles with addiction or their favorite animal shelter.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.barlowbonsall.com.

    To The Family,
Please Accept My Heartfelt Condolences. Truly the loss of a precious loved one is most difficult. Please find comfort in the promise our most loving Heavenly Father Jehovah God gives us in Revelation 21:4″And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more; neither will mourning; nor outcry; nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Yes, We can look forward to a time soon to come when all suffering including death will be done away with forever.
