Obituary
Kevin Earl Fluker was born on January 11, 1967, in Butler, Alabama, to his loving parents, Ardis Louise and James L. Fluker. He was the second son in their family, growing up surrounded by love and strong family values. Kevin departed this life on February 14, 2025, at the age of 58. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ardis Louise Fluker, his maternal grandparents, Lena Saxon and Earl Dunn, and his paternal grandparents, Maude Chaney Fluker and Esaw Fluker.
Kevin was a man of unwavering loyalty and deep devotion to his family. Kevin shared an especially special bond with his mother. The two of them had that calm, nurturing, common sense demeanor. These characteristics serviced him well in his career, as a friend, family member, and a dedicated youth coach.
Athleticism, intelligence, principled, and loyal are just a few words that describe Kevin. He always greeted you with a radiant smile, which could lead into a lengthy conversation filled with laughter.
Kevin was a graduate of Charleston High School, where he excelled as a basketball player. His years of playing various sports instilled in him valuable skills and a unique ability to motivate his team.
Kevin was always willing to lend a helping hand to those he cared about. When his mother’s health began to fail, he was always there, nurturing and making sure that she was all taken care of until her passing.
Throughout his life, Kevin had numerous careers, that he excelled at and found great enjoyment in. Shortly, after high school, Kevin served in the United States Army. Upon his discharge from the army, Kevin became a firefighter for the Charleston Fire Department. Kevin worked as a process server for Rudy DiTrapano, Esq.
However, Kevin’s greatest passion in life was working with and mentoring the youth in his role as a well-respected coach in the valley. As a dedicated and well-respected coach, he impacted the lives of many in the valley through football and basketball. Coaching from midget league to middle school, Kevin left behind a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire future generations. His legacy of the numerous lives that he touched will be seen for years to come as the youth start to make their positive impact on the world.
Kevin is survived by his loving father, James L. Fluker; his brother, James M. (Ericka) Fluker; his children, Corria, Samara, Adrian, Mayzie, and Isaac; his fiancée, Beth Cohen; his nephews, Jamar Robinson and Jordan; his nieces, Ishan Robinson and Kasee; his great-nephews, Semaj and Nasir; his beloved grandchildren, Keiondre, Kentrell, Mia, Kai, and Kahmari; and many aunts, uncles and cousins that he loved dearly.

Just found out that Kevin passed away, so sad to hear. I transferred to Charleston High School and Kevin was the one to be the kindest, friendliest and loyal friend I have come across. One of the finest people you would ever meet. Rest easy my good friend, you ran a good and faithful race. Class of 85.
