Obituary

Lawrence george bredemus, of charleston, died may 8, 2014 after an extended illness.
 larry was born feb. 19, 1951 and raised in minneapolis, minn. By his parents, alice and george bredemus who preceded him in death.
Larry leaves behind his wife, karen miller; sons, timothy bredemus of minneapolis and thomas bredemus of detroit lakes, minn.; step-daughters, bridget lanham of charleston and tanya miller of charleston, s.C.; sisters, georgeann eisenberg of minneapolis and deborah bredemus of elgin, texas; and brother, thomas bredemus of shoreview, minn. He was also a devoted grandfather to kara, beth, little and ariana anderson.
Larry was a lifelong member of the catholic church, attending basilica of the co-cathedral of the sacred heart since moving to charleston in 1991. He worked as a business consultant, traveling and living in several areas of the country before retiring in charleston.
Larry had many diverse skills and interests, most of which stemmed from an artistic nature that provided lifelong enrichment to him and his family. In later years, he turned his attention to designing the landscaping and renovations for his and karen’s home. He did most of this work himself, using self-taught skills to realize his visions. He was an accomplished cook and artist, with many hobbies which included biking, travel, dancing and gardening. He enjoyed the symphony and art museums.
A celebration of larry’s life will occur at 11 a.M. On monday, may 12, 2014 at basilica of the co-cathedral of the sacred heart with monsignor p. Edward sadie officiating. The family will be available at 10 a.M. In the great hall greeting room at the cathedral before the service. Inurnment will take place in minneapolis at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to sacred heart parish with stipulation to be used for the local needy program.
