Obituary
Leroy justice, 92, of charleston, passed away on wednesday, december 28, 2016 at meadowbrook acres nursing center, charleston.
Leroy was born november 30, 1924 at justice in mingo county to the late ted f. And frances ellis justice.
He was retired from columbia gas transportation corporation and was an inactive registered professional engineer.
Leroy was a presbyterian, a member of the sigma phi epsilon fraternity and a member of the american legion.
He was a graduate of gilbert high school, attended marshall college and graduated from the university of missouri, school of mines and metallurgy, with a degree in mining in 1953. He worked in the coal and natural gas industries for 35 years and has been a charleston area resident since 1969.
Leroy was a u.S. Navy veteran of world war ii, a descendent of revolutionary war veterans, john cooke, sr., joseph hatfield, robert chambers and isaac cole and a descendent of confederate veterans, lloyd and chapman ellis, as well as pioneer mingo county justice and ellis families.
In addition to his parents, leroy was preceded in death by his sisters, kathleen allen, lydia lammers and nell scully; brothers, bennett justice and larry justice.
Surviving relatives include his wife, vivian brown justice of charleston; sons, robert l. Justice of south charleston and william mark (jacqueline abel) justice and their children, jennifer britney justice and j.P. Hill all of snellville, ga; one niece and six nephews.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.M. Monday, january 2, 2017 at barlow bonsall funeral home, charleston with rev. Douglas a. Jenkins officiating. Entombment will follow at the forest lawn mausoleum, pecks mill in logan county. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers “ the family suggest donations may be made in memory of leroy to: first presbyterian church, 16 leon sullivan way, charleston, wv 25301.
