Obituary

Lewis “frank” fizer, 67, of charleston, passed away monday, january 9, 2017 as a result of an automobile accident. Frank was born on october 26, 1949 in south charleston to the late lewis ray and mary smith fizer.

He was the chief of the loudendale volunteer fire department.  with over 35 years of service to the loudendale community. Frank trained and served with many firefighters over the years, both volunteer and professional.  he spent many a sleepless night doing what he loved trying to save and protect his neighborhood of loudendale, and wouldn’t have had it any other way. When the call goes out, the brothers in fire unite.

Frank was a u.S. Navy veteran in the vietnam era, where he was trained at the nas whiting field, milton, fl as a fireman and served aboard the uss forrestal. He had previously worked as a mechanic for tire centers inc., charleston and for capital chrysler.

Frank also loved camping, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, sylvia; daughter, rachael; son, micah fizer, all of charleston; sisters, shirley (ben) day of hurricane and bonnie marker of columbus, oh; and several nieces and nephews.  memorial service will be 2:00 p.M. Saturday, january 21, 2017 at the loudendale free will baptist church, 7003 kanawha state forest drive, charleston, wv.  inurnment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers ““ the family suggests donations may be made in memory of frank to the:  loudendale volunteer fire department, 51 selbe lane, charleston, wv 25314.
