Obituary

Linda Kennedy Motley Melton, born July 2, 1937, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, after a long illness.

Born and raised in Holden, WV, Linda spent much of her life raising her family and working in Charleston, WV. She was a longtime member of Les Amis du Vin and worked as a medical technician, primarily at Columbia Gas Transmission Corporation. Linda will be remembered for her strength, sense of humor, and enduring spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John “Ralph” and Millie Kennedy, and her husbands, Henry “Brad” Coons, Everett Bloom Motley, and Howard Mason Melton, Jr.

Lindo is survived by her children, Linda Coons, Stephanie Coons, Lisa Fisher and spouse Vic, Jennifer Westfall and spouse Thomas; stepson, Kevin Motley and spouse Lynn, along with other extended family members. Among the greatest joys of her life were her cherished grandchildren, .Dalton Westfall, Zachary Ray (Melanie Jones), Sydney Westfall, and Kathryn Ray (Matthew Cavallaro) held a special place in her heart and brought immeasurable pride, laughter, and love to her family.

Funeral services and interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Linda’s memory. Please raise your glass and share a toast to Linda.
