Obituary

Loretta Sue Estep entered this life on June 29,1936, and departed July 18, 2023.

Her time on Earth was 87 years and 19 days.

She was born in Charleston, WV, the third child of Nelson and Mabel Jeffries, who preceded her in death along with her elder brother Glendle, and elder sister Bernice. She is survived by her younger brother Gary and his wife Martha from Clemson, SC.

She leaves behind her husband Jim of nearly 59 years of marriage, daughters Laura of Tampa, FL, Sara and husband Mark, and two grandsons Lane and Tanner of Elkview, WV.

Sue was an elegant woman who enjoyed artistic creativity and was known for her skills and talent.

She painted with great intensity taking special care to colors, the brush selection, and stroke of her hand to give her desired effect to the canvas, ornaments, or other medium of her selection.

She made numerous ceramic ornaments and objects like cookie jars, Christmas nativity scenes, and taught classes to other artists.

She, like so many others with special skills and talents, was primarily rewarded in their own heart with a special sense of accomplishment on a job well done.

After a long life of travels to beaches, country road day trips, and laughter, Sue passed away on July 18, 2023 of extended illnesses.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2023, at Emma Chapel Cemetery, along Rt. 34 in Liberty, WV.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution to Hospice is greatly appreciated.
