Obituary

Lynda Pearl Osborne (Goodwin), age 71, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 8, 2024, in Charleston, West Virginia, after a brief illness. Born on February 14, 1953, in Spencer, West Virginia, Lynda dedicated her life to her family and community.
Lynda married the love of her life, Mike Osborne, in January 1973 and would go on to have one son, Kenny, in October of 1977.  Lynda’s professional journey spanned over four decades at the West Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. Her commitment extended beyond her professional life as she worked tirelessly with local community leaders, including WV State Senator Oshel Craigo, and friend, Phyllis Hardaway, to secure funding to replace the building for the Amma Community and Senior Center.  She spent numerous hours working fundraisers and functions to ensure the children and citizens of our community had many opportunities.  Her relentless spirit was also evident in her efforts to fundraise for the Clendenin Little League, Southern Roane Football, and the Geary Panther Wrestling Team.  Her dedication to her family showed in how proud she was of her son and grandchildren-always working to make sure that she showed her support for them and their activities in whatever capacity she was able.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Amber Osborne; her grandchildren who meant the world to her, Bri, Abby, Korey, and Danielle Osborne; siblings, Brenda Hall, Judy (James) Osborne, and David (Barbara) Goodwin; other close family members and friends who became family, including Sam and Brenda Smith, Jeff Weems, Katherine Crouch, Nic Taylor,  along with many others.
Lynda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth “Mike” Osborne, and brothers, Edwin and Edward Goodwin.
Lynda’s legacy of dedication and love will resonate with all who knew her, as she truly gave her all in every aspect of life.  She will be missed by many for years to come.
In accordance with her wishes, there will not be a service. A Celebration of Life may be organized at a later date.
