Obituary

Marian Sue “Susie” Kraynie, of Mt Gilead, North Carolina, passed away on June 25th, 2025, at the age of 68.

Born in Ohioville, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Boyd Justice and Margaret Justice.

Susie is survived by her beloved husband, Glenn William Kraynie Jr., son Justin Kraynie (Kisha), daughter Alyssa Kraynie, grandson William Kraynie, mother Margaret Justice, and sisters Connie Mortimer, Judy Doutt, and Barbara Justice. She also leaves behind an uncle, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and countless friends.

After graduating from Western Beaver High School in 1974, Susie spent many years in the food industry. She then obtained her Associates degree in Marketing from West Virginia State University and went on to manage restaurants.

Susie happily devoted her entire life to caring for her family; most of all her soulmate and high school sweetheart Glenn. She and Glenn recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. After raising her two children, one of her greatest joys in life was spoiling her grandson William and watching his baseball games.

Susie and Glenn loved to spend their time ballroom dancing, visiting the island of Saint Martin, traveling with friends, and hosting amazing dinners where she was always the life of the party.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 3rd, 2025, at Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home and Crematorium, at 1118 Virginia Street East, Charleston, WV 25301. At the family’s request, there will be no formal service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Susie’s name to Habitat for Humanity of Kanawha & Putnam County, 815 Court Street, Charleston, WV 25301. Please specify “home construction fund” in the notes.
