Obituary
Marie putnam (duduit) capinpin, left this world after a 2 year struggle with lewy body dementia on august 6, 2018. She was born in charleston, wv., march 21, 1937 and had a blessed and wonderful life. She was raised by her parents, helen and alfed duduit in charleston, and spent summers on the coal river with her sister, adele hagerman, cousin, ann adele lloyd and her many friends.
She attended horace mann elementary, cheerleader for chamberlain middle school, graduated charleston high school class of 55, attended charleston general school of nursing. She married her best friend and companion, dr, alberto capinpin, a plastic surgeon and medial missionary,
they spent hours together, playing tennis, bowling, swimming, scuba diving, skiing, traveling on missions, dancing and singing in the choir at st, timothy lutheran church,
she ws the office manager at her husbands’ practice, was the historian, chaplain, vice regent and state choir for the fort lee chapter of the d.Ar. She was the vice-president and president of the south hills mothers club, and president of the women’s auxiliary of the kanawha valley medical association. She also made many friends and acquaintances as a volunteer at st. Francis. One of her many claims to fame, was her week long streak on the game show “say when”.
Marie leaves behind, her daughters laurie, (george) heaton, lisa (alan) long; and her son, tony and cindy capinpin. She cherished and was well loved by her three grandsons, james heaton, forrest and cameron long. She will be missed by her many lifelong friends and family.
Special thanks to caregivers, marilyn carter, ramona spainhour, terry tuttle and kanawha valley hospice. They helped support marie’s free spirit bear through the challenge of the physically and mentally burdening disease of dementia.
She has donated her body to the university of michigan study on dementia and medcure, in the hopes of helping others. a celebration of her life will commence at a later date. she will be sadly missed. she would rather you find peace that she is in heaven with her lord and savior jesus christ and her family members that preceded her.
