Obituary

Marie “toni” estep 66, of charleston, wv passed away, monday, may 7, 2018 at her residence.

Toni was born in huntington, wv to the late charles estep and leda lewis. She attended sacred heart elementary in huntington and was a graduated from charleston catholic high school in 1969. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from west virginia university in 1973, earned her master’s degree from marshall university, and later in her career completing her phd. She worked as the region 3 drug treatment center as a counselor. Continuing her accomplished career as the chief financial officer for shawnee hills, and youth education specialist at west virginia state university extension. Toni displayed a wonderful knack for solving difficult problems, was known for her impeccable organization skills, and always putting her client’s needs before anything else. Toni truly lived life to the fullest through the simplest pleasures; chatting with friends and family, spending time with her sister, nieces, and great nieces, and had a great love for her cat, lizzie, who just passed shortly before her at the age of 15. Toni had a great deal of hobbies; collecting antiques, music, photography, gardening, and was always trying to keep herself educated and up to date in her counseling field. Toni had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way, her charism for life and witty personality made complete strangers feel like they had been friends for a life time. Toni will truly be missed by all who loved and cherished her.

She is survived by her two sisters, victoria (duane) pickavance of huntington, wv and rose (peg) frey of atlanta, ga;; nieces, michelle (jeremy) eckhart and lisa (jason)dillon; her ex-husband, mike price; also a dear friend, michael pauley.

Friends, family, and others whose lives toni touched are invited to a casual celebration of toni’s life, from 11:00 a.M. To 1:00 p.M., saturday, may 19, 2018 at barlow bonsall funeral home, charleston, wv.
