Obituary
Marjorie Ann Land Chenoweth peacefully passed from this life at Hubbard House, CAMC, May 16, 2025, the day after she celebrated her 97th birthday, following a short illness. “I think it’s time to let go,” she told her two daughters at her bedside. She was born in Marion, Indiana, May 15, 1928.
Marjorie last resided at The Ridgemont, Edgewood Summit. She was well loved by both residents and staff. She was known for her beautiful smile, gentle nature, and kindness. She will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace D. Land and Mary Robinson Land of Marion, IN; her husband of 67 years, Robert George Chenoweth, Jr.; grandson, Tracy Lawrence Chenoweth (Steve), and granddaughter, Corey Ann Woody ( Leesa).
Survivors include her sister, Mary Jane Land Evans of Indianapolis, IN; sons, Steven D. of Lockport, NY (Nancy) and James R. of Charleston, WV (Angela); daughters, Carole Workman Shinn of Pierson, FL (James) and Leesa J. Chenoweth of Charleston WV; grandchildren, Gary R. Chenoweth, Christopher L. Chenoweth, Caitlin E. Workman, Franz S. Workman IV (Michelle), Emily Workman White (Joseph) and James Robert Chenoweth Jr.; great-granddaughters, Leah and Sarah White; great-grandchildren of Gary and Christopher; several great, great-grandchildren and others too many to list.
Snowy, her “pet” META cat, now resides at the 2nd floor nurse’s station at The Ridgemont under the same loving care mom received from Carmella, Laurel, Judy, Milly, Cynthia, and all the others that helped her all these years.
The family wishes to express their gratitude, especially for the many years of devoted care provided by the staff of the Ridgemont. Also, special thanks to Nurse Jess on 3 West CAMC, Nurse Joetta RN and Tara CNA who cared for her lovingly on the 4th floor Hospice Unit.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or Hubbard Hospice House.
There will be a private memorial service at a later date.

What a beautiful, gracious couple your parents were! I met them through my father, Bill, and Sarah Nicholas. Dad just loved them — they came to his 80th birthday party. I also spent an evening with you, Carole, and Franz at Sarah’s many years ago. Time goes too quickly! My condolences to all for your loss.
