Obituary
Mark langly reed was born onto this earth on april 15, 1957 and his beautiful soul departed his earthly vessel on july 10, 2015. Mark was a lifelong disciple of the lord jesus christ and now is celebrating with our savior. Mark was remarkable in every sense of the word. His heart was huge, his inner strength was astounding, and his intelligence was unmatched. Mark spent most of his youth in charleston, before he and his family moved to atlanta, ga where mark went to high school. Mark was an avid athlete, earning titles such as state champion wrestler, diver and track star in junior high and high school. After high school, mark moved back to charleston and attended morris harvey college (university of charleston) where he studied political science. As an adult, he was a keen cyclist and outdoorsman. He loved repelling, rock-climbing, and hiking. He founded a bridge jumping club that was centered around the new river area of west virginia. Mark was endowed with the heart of an artist. He created beautiful works of art that exemplified talent and beauty. He graduated from the atlanta school of art and one of his works has been displayed at the high museum of art in atlanta. Of all his talents, mark enjoyed writing the most. Two of his and his wife’s favorite books he authored, were compilations of short stories, entitled raud naut voyage and sturlangwellhar. He wrote stories that relayed messages of love, positivity, and humor. His capacity to create tangible masterpieces from a simple thought in his mind was prodigious. Perhaps most amazingly though, is that mark never saw himself as the remarkable architect of beautiful things that everyone else knew he was. He was born with these gifts and they just came so naturally to him. Mark also spent many years working in the legal field. Mark’s heart was gold and his steadfast loyalty to his lord, family, and friends was extraordinary. In the last year of his physical life, as mark’s body was under attack, he faced the battle with undeniable and unshakeable faith and courage; an inner strength that was so strong and resolute that made mark shine through the battlefield. Mark knew that jesus christ was with him and guiding his steps. He never feared leaving this physical world. He knew the best was yet to come. He knew his soul was going home to the lord jesus christ and he would become more alive than any of us left here on this earth can ever begin to comprehend or understand. When mark’s body could fight no more, his soul broke free of it and now mark is renewed; more alive, healthy, and well than is comprehensible to those of us that are left behind, brokenhearted, and desperately missing him. We look forward to the day that we are reunited with our beautiful mark.
Mark has had a glorious reunion in heaven with his father, james clarence reed jr., and his sister, deborah ann reed norman.
Those desperately missing mark and left grieving and brokenhearted include his wife, stacy jo reed of charleston; his son, miles mark langly reed of morgantown; his mother, cordelia reed of sissonville; his sister, sarah ingraham (john) of scott depot; his brothers, thomas reed (desiree) of south charleston; todd reed (elizabeth) of columbus, ohio, and james reed (leisa) of sissonville; his uncle, george harold “uncle buck” reed of charleston, and mark’s mother-in-law, lily suzanne forrest of elkview, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Also left grieving and broken-hearted, are mark and stacy jo’s two canine children, oscar and francesco.
An amazing child of god, mark langly reed, lived his physical life in an exemplary manner and is now reaping the rewards of a life well lived. Our beautiful mark, we will see you soon, our angel.
A celebration of mark’s beautiful life will be held on july 30 at 1:00 p.M. At grace covenant presbyterian church in charleston.
“because through christ jesus the law of the spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death” romans 8:2

I Did Not Know Mr. Reed But I Know How Hard It Can Be To Lose A Loved One In Death So I Wanted To Say I Am Very Sorry For Your Loss. The Scripture That Has Given Me Comfort At Times Like This Is The One Found At Revelation 21:4 That Says, “And He Will Wipe Out Every Tear From Their Eyes, And Death Will Be No More, Neither Will Mourning Nor Outcry Nor Pain Be Anymore. The Former Things Have Passed Away.” So God Has Promised That In The Very Near Future We Will Never Have To Experience The Pain Associated With Death Anymore. I Pray That This Gives The Family Some Comfort During This Difficult Time.

My Condolences For Your Loss. Revelation 21:3&4 Says … God Will Wipe Out Every Tear Fro Their Eyes, And Death Will Be No More Neither Mourning Nor Out Cry, Nor Pain Be Anymore. The Elimination Of Death Will Remove The Principal Cause Of Tears,Mourning, Outcry, And Pain. Think Of That God Whose Name Is Jehovah And His Son Jesus Christ Are Concern Over Your Loss. Their Promise Is That Our Loved Ones Can Live Again (John 5:28&29). May The God Of Tender Mercy Be A Source Of Comfort To The Family During Your Time Of Bereavement.
