Obituary
Martha adams sandy 92, passed away friday, october 20, 2 017 at hubbard hospice house, charleston, wv.
She was born in sistersville, wv, the daughter of the late russell and dell adams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings and her husband, jack sandy.
Martha was active in volunteer work as an ombudsman at arthur b. Hodges center, the women’s center for domestic violence, meals on wheels, children’s theater and the ywca child enrichment center. She was a former member of the junior women’s club and the forest ridge garden club. She was a member of the unitarian universalist fellowship.
She is survived by five daughters, carolyn sandy (bill weber) of galloway, ohio, susan harcum of fredericksburg, virginia and children, melissa hoffman of plano, texas, and marc hoffman of fredericksburg, virginia; sharon sandy of cleveland, ohio, lynne sandy of charleston, wv and sarah kingston and children, kevin (adrienne) kingston and sam kingston of charleston, wv; and a great-grandchild, maxwell.
Martha chose to be cremated. Friends may visit with family members at barlow bonsall funeral home, wednesday, october 25, 2017 from 6 “ 8 p.M.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in martha’s memory to: the unitarian universalist fellowship, 520 kanawha blvd., west, charleston, wv 25302 or the kanawha county animal shelter, 1248 greenbrier street, charleston, wv 25311.

Martha Was A Special Lady To Me In My Teen Years. When I Went To Boarding School, She Would Write The Funniest Letters To Me. Thinking Of All Of The Sandy Girls Today And Wish I Could Make It To Charleston To See All Of You!
