Obituary

Martha wick keeney passed away peacefully at home on july 28, 2018 at the age of 70.

She was born december 28, 1947, to paul “chick” and ruth “byrdie” wick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, thomas oaks keeney and step-son, thomas oaks keeney, jr. As well as her beloved dog, holly.

She is survived by her sister, catherine “kitty” wick (hugh) corpening of houston, texas; step-children leslie (dave) long of charleston, mark (pam) keeney and kimberly (butch) dawson of north carolina; step-daughter-in-law jill keeney of charleston; nephews, jason (jenn) kinder, christopher corpening; nieces, morgan and madison corpening; 12 step-grandchildren and 12 step-great grandchildren.

Martha graduated from stonewall jackson high school in 1965 and attended concord college. She was the assistant director of the taxpayers service division of the west virginia state tax department before her retirement. She was a member of bream memorial presbyterian church.

A graveside service will be held at noon on friday, august 10th, with reverend ravi isaiah, at sunset memorial park cemetery, 4301 maccorkle ave., sw, south charleston, wv,

in lieu of flowers, the family that requests donations be made to: kanawha-charleston humane association, 1248 greenbrier st., charleston, wv 25311 or the american cancer society, p.O box 22478, oklahoma city, ok 73123.

The family would also like to thank the staff at the camc cancer center, kanawha hospice care and michele williams for their help and loving kindness.

    Martha Was A Great Mentor And Friend. She Was My Boss. She Was Always Kind, Patient And Helpful. She Always Made Me Feel That I Was Never A Bother With My Questions. I Will Miss Her

    Martha Was My Supervisor, And Then Assistant Director, At Taxpayer Service Division. I Have Always Thought The World Of Martha. She Was A Great Person And Supervisor. She Was Caring And Thoughtful. Even Though It Has Been Awhile Since I Last Spoke To Martha She Was Always In My Thoughts. I Also Got To Meet Her Beloved Holly On Many Occasions.

    My Thoughts And Prayers Are With Her Family.
