Obituary

Marvin Edward Elswick, 74, Charleston, WV, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, with family by his side.

He retired from WV PSC after many years of service. Prior to his working for WV PSC, Marvin was the owner of Custom Van Accessories. He was also a member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 625.

Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara; son, J. Ryan Elswick (Monica); daughter, Erika Elswick Smith (Steve); grandchildren, Sadie, Eli, Madelyn, Landon and Vera; brothers, Bill Elswick (Lorraine) and Ron Elswick (Vanessa); sisters, Sandi Morris and Toni Elswick, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home, 1118 Virginia Street East, Charleston, with Pastor Archie Snedegar officiating.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the American Cancer Society.

    Barbara, I am sorry to read about Ed’s passing. I would see him many times in our store and enjoyed our conversations. Getting to see you both on the “American Pickers” TV show brought back many wonderful memories. We’ll keep you and your family in our prayers.
