Obituary

MARYANNE (née GESKER) HAMRICK, 82, of Dunbar, West Virginia, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family after last rites, on February 28, 2026.

Born in 1943 in Trenton, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Barbara Gesker. She graduated with honors from Pennsbury High School in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania.

In 1963, she married David Hamrick and moved to Charleston, West Virginia, where she made her home for the rest of her life. She devoted more than 40 years of faithful service as clerk with the Kanawha County Circuit Clerk’s Office, serving the community with dedication, compassion, and integrity.

She was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin Hamrick.

Maryanne is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Price and Ed Miller of Norfolk, Virginia.; her grandsons, Thomas Price and his wife, Lyndsey Chambers, of Lexington, Kentucky; Michael Price and his wife, Raegan Price, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and Stephen Price of Oakland, California; her granddaughter, Emmalee Hamrick of Richmond, Virginia; and her great-grandchildren, Benji, Cameron and Henry Price.

She was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Known for her selfless nature, quick wit, and positive attitude, she gave generously of her time and heart, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on April 10, 2026, at Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home, 1118 Virginia Street East, Charleston.

Visitation will begin 30 minutes prior at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Kanawha Hospice Care, Inc.
