Obituary

Max samuel ruben, son of rachel ruben and the late carl ruben and the nephew of the late
isabell and saralee ruben passed away sunday, november 20.
Max was born on december 29, 1962 in charleston, wv. He was an important and loved member of the charleston community for most of his adult life. While living in charleston,
max was an active congregant of b’nai jacob synagogue, where he attended weekly services
with his dad, carl. Max loved to ride horses, bowl, swim, listen to music and dance. While growing up, max and carl could be found spending time together somewhere on capital street with the “locals”, eating at the blossom dairy, grabbing a bag of roasted sunflower seeds at the peanut shop or shooting a round of billiards at the strand.
Max lived in atlanta, georgia with his sister before moving to boca raton, florida in 2013. In boca, max resided in a beautiful and loving home run by jarc (jewish association for residential care) and attended twin palms center, where he was cherished, challenged and nurtured-place where he found his most loyal and best friends.
Max is survived by his mother, rachel ruben; sisters, lisa walden and elizabeth friedman, brother in law, robert friedman, and nieces and ilanna garzon and lauren friedman and nephew, eric walden and many cousins.
Graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon, sunday, november 27, 2016 at b’nai jacob eternal home cemetery, south charleston, wv with rabbi victor urecki officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to twin palms center, 306 ne 35th. Street, boca raton, florida 33431.

I Had The Pleasure Of Spending Time With Max And Saw How Happy He Was And So Excited To Spend The Day At His Center That He Was Almost Tripping Over Himself To Get In The Door! He Was So Loved By You All And Was Happy And Active. You Loved Him Well And He Is Smiling Down Saying Thank You, Love You And See You Soon.
