Obituary

Melissa Renee Morris Higley, 57, of Charleston, WV, passed away July 15, 2025.

She is the daughter and stepdaughter of Carolyn A. Morris and Ronnie L. Jones of Charleston.

Melissa is survived by her siblings, Sherry Morris Kennedy (Jim), Gary Morris (Shelly), Keith Morris, and Kelly Morris Myers (Chris), all of Charleston, and her best friend and uncle, John Nida of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her father, Allen Morris; grandmother, Edith Hawkins, and Uncles Tom Hawkins and Buck Nida.

Per Melissa’s wishes she will be cremated and no service will be held. Her ashes will be spread upon her grandmother and uncle’s graves at a later date.
