Obituary

Michael Hunt, 66, of Charleston, WV, passed away July 8, 2025, at CAMC Memorial Hospital.

He was the son of James Hunt and Doris Jean (Silverman) Wilbin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Hunt, and his ex-wife, whom he was married to for 40 years, Kimberly “Kim” Hunt.

Michael is survived by his sons, Craig “Ty” Hunt, Michael “Mikey” Hunt, and Christopher “Chris” Hunt; brother, James Hunt and wife Jeanie; sister, Karen Lanham; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Michael served in the U.S. Army and received the Overseas Service Ribbon for the time stationed in South Korea. He worked in construction and at Yeager Airport.

Playing pool, NASCAR, westerns, grilling out and sitting on the porch with friends talking about the good old days were a few of his favorite things.

The inurnment service with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery in Dunbar, WV. If you are planning to attend, please arrive at the cemetery 15 minutes early.
