Obituary

Mildred Jewel “Jo” (Epps) Hopkins, formerly of Boynton Beach, FL, and retired to Charleston, WV, took the hand of God’s most tender and understanding angel, the angel of death, and was taken peacefully to her Lord and Savior, JESUS Christ, on January 5, 2026.

She was born July 14, 1929, to Henry “Pete” and Stella Epps of Gastonia, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Nelson and Kelly Dean Ramacher; one twin son (twin to Sherry), Terry Lee Linzy; one sister, Francis ‘‘Boots’ (Epps) Meridith, and brother, Harold Epps.

Jo is survived by one sister, Lillian Marie Simms of Clover, SC, and daughters, Linda Rutherford of Shelby, NC, Sherry McDowell of Temple, GA, Nancy. Corns-Smith (Danny “Bo”) of Charleston, Kathy Lowe of Charleston and Billie Linzy of Orlando, FL. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren.
