Obituary
On January 23, 2021, Lijkel “Leen” Dijkstra passed away unexpectedly at his home in Wheeling, WV. He was 73 years old.
Leen was born April 18, 1947, in Holland and served in the Royal Dutch Navy as a master diver. He spent his career in underwater construction, retiring from Marion Hill Associates of Pittsburgh after 20 years of service.
Leen was an avid fisherman, diver and mariner; a member of the Northern Panhandle Amateur Radio Club; and a member of the Cave Club.
Leen’s wishes were to spend eternity among the sea, so his ashes will be spread from The Pointe in Pittsburgh among close family and friends.
Memorial service will be held in the future to honor the life of Leen Dijkstra.

My condolences on the loss of Leen. He was a classmate of mine in the “Navy Diver” course. This summer we would go to his hometown Urk to visit his brother Jan. I wish family and friends strength for the coming period.
