Obituary
Robert C. Patton, 94, passed away suddenly Friday, March 19, 2021, at his residence in Dunbar, WV.
He was born November 2, 1926, in Belle, WV, to the late Alfred and Nora Patton. Robert worked as an upholsterer in Kanawha Valley until he moved to Romney, WV. There, he taught upholstery at West Virginia School for Deaf and Blind until his retirement. He was a member of West Virginia Association of the Deaf, Charleston Association of the Deaf, and West Virginia School Deaf Alumni Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James, Earnest, Owen, Roy and Clifford Patton; and his sister, Connie Cameron.
Robert is survived by his wife of 73 years, his sweetheart, Mary; daughter, Brenda Grinstead (Gary) of Dunbar; son, Dale Patton (Debbie) of Morgantown, WV; five grandchildren, Timothy Grinstead (Jan), J. Scott Grinstead (Sarah), Samantha Slone (Andy), Lindsey Stockdale (Tim), and Katherine Patton (Alex); nine great-grandchildren, Madison, Avery, Jason, Temperance, Annie and Mia Grinstead, Mae and Luke Stockdale, and Lucy Garber Patton; and sister, Frances “Frankie” Dolan (Larry) of Buckhannon, WV.
Per his request, there will be no visitation or service. His body was donated to WVU Human Gift Registry.

Mary, we are so sorry to hear about Bob’s passing. Joey mentioned Bob taught him upholsery at WVSD. We hope to see you after this pandemic is over. Take care of yourself and be comforted.
