Obituary

William James Steed, “Jim”, 63 of Charleston, West Virginia, passed away on March 16th, 2021 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Steed and his Father William Hugh Steed.

Jim is survived by his son, Jason Steed (spouse Olivia); twin grandchildren, Josephine and Everett; his brother, Dennis Steed (Leigh), and his long-time partner, Elizabeth Gottlieb and her son, Max.

He was born in Charleston, WV on June 28th, 1957. Jim graduated from George Washington High School in Charleston, studied at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV before he travelled the world, eventually moving to Steamboat Springs, Colorado where he studied and worked in resort management.

He was an avid skier and photographer with a passion for music, most notably the Rolling Stones. His magnetic personality made it simple for him to make new friends wherever he traveled.

He was always glad to lend a helping hand with his caring spirit and creative nature, he loved animals and being outdoors. While everyone who knew Jim will miss him greatly, we may all find solace in his final peace. He will be hitting the slopes in good form, free of his pain, at last.
