Obituary

Mrs. Barbara Leonard Bryant, 86, of South Charleston, passed of natural causes peacefully to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024.

A beloved member of the community, she was active in several organizations during her life. As a member of First Baptist Church of South Charleston, her dedication included Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher and Children’s Choir Director. She also headed up Vacation Bible School and sang in the choir. As Chairman of ticket sales for Charleston Community Music she had the opportunity to meet many well-known singers and top performers.

She enjoyed her friends at Rock Lake Village Bridge Club, Mothers Club and Women’s Club.

Her style was legendary and once received 18 fashion catalogs in one day.

Growing up in Lexington and Greensboro, NC, with her parents, Jo and Paul Leonard, she loved going to her Grandparents’ farm where she was just as comfortable picking potatoes as reading several books at once. Vacationing with the family at Myrtle Beach was a decades-long tradition, with memories of love and much laughter.

She was married to David approaching 70 years. Also surviving are daughter, Victoria Bryant Pintenich (Jeff), son, Michael David Bryant (Leetta) and daughter, Traci Bryant (Colin); Nashville grandchildren, Curt Pintenich (Baruka), with great-grandchildren, Luken and Finley Pintenich; and granddaughter, Courtney Pintenich (Jed).

A Celebration of Life Service is planned for a future date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in memory of Barbara to: Kanawha Hospice Care, 1001 Kennawa Drive, Charleston, WV 25311.

Condolences may be shared with the family at www.barlowbonsall.com .
