The First Missionary Baptist Church of Powellton sends its condolences on behalf of Pastor William I. Kinney and the congregation, to the Stockton and Lipscomb family, as you are mourning the passing of your loved one Sister Vernelle Lipscomb. At this difficult time, we are reminded of the book of John which states: Truly, truly, I say unto you, he who hears my word and believes Him who sent me, has eternal life; he does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. Like a storm of nature, a personal tragedy can often leave us feeling powerless and in the dark. During this time, God’s word assures us of His help. It states, “He giveth power to the faint, and for them who have no might He increaseth strength”. At our lowest point, we can place our hope in the Lord and find our strength in Him. He promises us that “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint”. God is our spiritual power source in every storm of life. Take hope in God and rest assured that His love is more than enough to carry you. We want to assure you that you are in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time, and we know the same God who has helped you with past trials, will be ever present during this one as well.

    Forever In Our Prayers,
Rev. William I. Kinney – Pastor
