Obituary
Myrtle (Pennington) Callison Stinnett of Charleston, West Virginia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 13, 2026.
Myrtle was born on April 27, 1934, in Charleston, West Virginia, to Luther and Letha Pennington. She was born and raised on the Pennington Family Hilltop where she later raised her family as well. Myrtle lived a life defined by compassion, hard work, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, and warm smile touched countless lives and will be cherished forever.
Myrtle dedicated many years of her professional life as a Surgical Technician, serving in operating rooms throughout the Charleston area. She took great pride in her work and quietly made a difference in the lives of countless patients and healthcare professionals through her skill, dedication, and tenacious caring nature.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Luther Pennington and Letha Pennington of Charleston, West Virginia; her husbands, Russell Callison and Ralph Lee Stinnett, and her beloved daughter, Cynthia Leah Callison.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her daughter, Monica Swinzow of Washington, North Carolina; her sons, Russell Callison and Timothy Callison of Charleston, West Virginia; her grandchildren, Georgiana (Michael) Athenry and Eric Callison, and her three treasured great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Liam, and Caroline.
Myrtle was known for her strength, sense of humor, quiet resilience, and unconditional love for her family. Whether caring for others in the operating room or spending time with those she loved most, she always put others before herself. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled, the memories she created, and the love she shared so freely.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing that she is reunited with those who went before her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will remain a lasting source of comfort, love, and inspiration for generations to come.
“Those we love never truly leave us. They live on in the kindness they shared, the memories they created, and the love they placed in our hearts forever.”
