Obituary

Nancy fox drescher, 56, of charleston, passed away at hubbard hospice house on may 11, 2014, after living courageously with cancer for over three years.
Nancy was born and raised in beckley. She graduated from west virginia university with a degree in pharmacy in 1981 and worked at several local pharmacies over the last 30 years. Throughout the years, nancy was an active volunteer at weberwood elementary, john adams middle school and george washington high school. She was actively involved with read aloud wv of kanawha county, first presbyterian church of charleston, the east end resource center and the camc foundation, supporting the new camc cancer center. She was a lover and creator of art and jewelry, an avid gardener and an engaged member of the charleston community.
Nancy is survived by her parents, dr. Lewis and shirley fox of beckley; her husband of 31 years, alan; her son and daughter-in-law, chris and abigail of augusta, ga.; her daughter, molly, and her partner, evan widney, of carrboro, n.C.; her sister and brother-in-law, lynn and ken evans of doylestown, pa.; her in-laws, otto and dottie drescher of st. Albans; six nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends and extended family. All who knew nancy will remember her warm smile, kind heart, generous spirit and compassionate soul.
A celebration of nancy’s life will take place at 4 p.M. Thursday, may 15, at first presbyterian church of charleston. Nancy’s family will be in the ruffner room from 2 to 4 p.M. For visitation prior to the service.
