Obituary
Nancy kate abel, of elkview, wv passed away december 27, 2017.
Nancy was born september 30, 1937, in newport, tennessee to the lte william and blanche (neas) hogan.
She attended parrottsville high school in parrottsville, tennessee. She continued her education at east tennessee state university in johnson city, tennessee. She enjoyed crosswords, sudoku and travel, taking numerous cruises with her friends. She was active in her church, visiting with
others in the congregation. Nancy retired in 1997 after working 11 years with the kanawha county schools, she enjoyed teaching the 4th. Grade students at clendenin elementary school.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, reverend allen cowan, former general presbyter, and her second husband, reverend kenneth abel.
She is survived by her brothers, david and ed hogan, of newport, and parrottsville, tn
respectively; her sons, allen cowan ii of cross lanes, wv and chris cowan of richmond, va; and her grandson, ryan cowan of cross lanes, wv.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.M. Saturday, january 6, 2018 at elk hills presbyterian church with rev. Cherri sizemore officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow with a graveside service in springhill cemetery.
