Obituary

Nancy lynn cox duncan, 51, of kanawha city passed away at charleston memorial hospital on saturday, march 3. She was a very brittle diabetic and fought until the very end, when she lost her life to complications from diabetic ketoacidosis.

Nancy was born on june 28, 1966 in chicago, illinois. She was raised in stollings, wv where she became a 1984 graduate of logan high school with her son,  joshua mont fortner, right by her side. Nancy is now reunited with josh, who departed on march 13, 2007.

Nancy is also preceded in death by her parents, denny lewis cox and connie sue harrison, and her soulmate, james “robin” duncan, as well as her grandparents, including a special grandmother, carmen fannin fabijan,  and many other family members and friends.

Nancy can best be described as free-spirited. She was full of life and was always seen with a smile on her face. Those of us who knew her best can say she was like a butterfly, here one day and gone the next, and loved to be a traveler of life. She also had a crazy love for her chihuahua, precious, who will miss her greatly.

Nancy is survived by her long-time companion, ralph hammitt, her daughter jennifer (chris) miller of vienna, two grandsons, brady and cooper miller, of vienna, four siblings, including one close brother, chris (brandy) cox of kanawha city,  a special niece, christan cox of alabama,  a special aunt, teddi williams of julian, her step-mother, becky cox of saint albans, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her unconditionally.

Nancy’s memorial visitation will be sunday, march 11 at 2pm at belle church of christ in belle, wv with a reception immediately following.

Barlow bonsall is overseeing taking care of nancy’s final wish  of cremation.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to cover final expenses. Donations can be made to her daughter, jennifer miller, at 5 woodland drive, vienna, wv 26105.
