Obituary
Pam Gale Wiley, 71 years young, unexpectedly passed away on May 2, 2026, at her home in Charleston, WV.
She was born in Charleston on December 26, 1954, to Walter and Wanda (Compton) Wiley and grew up on the East End of Charleston. A graduate of Charleston High School, she worked for the State of West Virginia for 42 years, beginning her career at Worker’s Compensation and later retiring from the Department of Corrections.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Curtis Wiley.
Pam is survived by her brother, Kerry Wiley; niece, Ashley Good (Alexander); great nephew, Augustus Good; beloved cousins; and her special K9 companions, Fozzie, Rollo, and Sara. The family would like to send a special thank you to Sally Johnson and Slyvester Camp.
Pam was instantly recognizable by her vibrant red hair and her eccentric, creative spirit. She loved gardening, cooking for her family and friends, and sharing her mother’s sweet potato casserole. She enjoyed the thrill of thrift shopping and had a special fondness for costume jewelry, always finding pieces that matched her unique style. She was also outspoken and unafraid to share her opinions — including her well‑known disdain for President Donald Trump — a reflection of her bold personality and unwavering sense of what she believed in. She was a caring soul with a generous heart, helping many people and pets throughout her life.
A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, at Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home, 1118 Virginia Street East, Charleston.
Visitation will begin one hour prior at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Pam’s memory to the Kanawha Charleston Humane Association, 1248 Greenbrier Street, Charleston, WV 25311.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.barlowbonsall.com.

My condolences to her family. Pam was a friend when I was about 12 or 13. I reconnected with her on Facebook a few years ago. I’m so sad to hear this news.
