Obituary

It is with great sorrow that the family of Parke Jernigan Wolfe, 67, shares his unexpected passing on May 28, 2024, at his home in Charleston, WV.

He served as President and Owner of Bert Wolfe Inc. in Charleston for over 36 years and dedicated his time to the Ford National Dealers Committee, the Toyota CAT Dealers Council, and several other boards during his career. He enjoyed giving back to his community and supported several local and national charities. He was an avid golfer and tennis player and was regarded as a fierce competitor.

Parke was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Cleveland “Bert” Wolfe and Carrie Jernigan (Charleston) Wolfe.

He is survived and greatly missed by his wife, Penny; sons, PJ (Katie) and Chase; granddaughter, Abigail; sisters, Lee Cabell, Barrie Warwick (Jack), and Amy Estep (Donnie), and several nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Parke’s life, a memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. June 21, 2024, at Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Parke’s honor to the Special Olympics West Virginia, 3055 Mount Vernon Road, Hurricane, WV 25526 or Christ Church United Methodist, 1221 Quarrier Street, Charleston, WV 25301.

  1. So sorry to hear of Parke’s passing. I enjoyed so many good times with him and all the fun we had working for him over the years. Prayers for his kids and all his family. You will be missed my friend and never forgotten.

  2. I was immensely saddened to hear of Parke’s passing. He was always so sweet and kind to me. Not every man is confident enough to have women just as friends but Parke did it with ease. My heart goes out to Penny and the kids. May God keep you and comfort you through this difficult time. I will always treasure my memories of Parke and all the good times we had. Rest in peace my dear friend.

    Penny, PJ, and Chase, My heart is saddened by Parke’s passing. Over the years, we have had many memories of the dealership days, living on East Ridge, and our Toyota golf trips.
