Obituary
Paul Alan Wheeler, 64, of Charleston, WV, passed away on May 15, 2025.
He was born on June 12, 1960, to the late Lonnie Wheeler and Margaret “Peggy” Benton. He was also preceded in death by his step father, Clifford Benton; his brothers, Rick and Randy Wheeler; step brother, Millard Wheeler, as well as his sister-in-law, Charlotte Wheeler.
Paul is survived by his son, Jon Jones of Charleston; sisters, Claudia Lewis (Larry) of St. Albans, WV, and Kathy Means (Jimmy) of Charleston, and brother, Ivan Wheeler (Joanna) of Pinch, WV. He is also survived by his step brother, Glen Wheeler (Diana) of Dinwiddie, VA, as well as his step sisters, Joyce Moore (Chris) of Galax, VA, and Kim Lycans (Jimmy) of Charleston. Paul leaves behind two grandsons, Dylan and Tyler Jones of Charleston. In addition to these family members, Paul leaves behind several nieces and nephews whom he was very fond of.
There was never a dull moment when Paul was around. He loved to spend time with his family and friends whether it was around the family dinner table or at Tudors in the mornings or Harding’s Restaurant in the evenings. Paul also loved taking trips to Myrtle Beach every chance he got.
Paul was loved and will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Rensford Independent Missionary Baptist Church, 1792 Point Lick Drive, Charleston, WV, with Dana Clay officiating.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church.

Paul was mine and Austin’s adopted son. There was never a dull moment when he was with us, we both loved him dearly. I know Austin will be standing at the pearly gates waiting to welcome him. he will be so happy to see him. Love and prayers to his family and friends.
