Obituary
Paul Howard Hanson, 74, of Seth, WV, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 5, 2023. He passed at home surrounded by family.
Paul was born February 17, 1949, in Charleston, WV, to the late William Hanson and Lois Hanson. He was also preceded in death by his son, Paul William “Bubby” Hanson; step daughter, Tara (Bateman) Arthur, and brothers, Gary “Wayne” Hanson and Kenneth Edward “Kenny” Hanson.
Paul leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Vickie (Dodrill) Hanson; daughter, Angela D. (Earl Manley) Hanson of Deep Water, WV; step daughter, Angela G. (Richard) Walker of Seth; step son, Michael (Amy) Bateman of Seth; brother, David (Brenda) Hanson of Winfield, WV; sister-in-law, Marilyn Hanson of Elkview, WV; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Paul’s number one priority was his wife and children. He was dedicated and took great pride in his work as a delivery driver with Hackbart in Nitro, WV. He worked up until his last month; it was very difficult for him to accept the fact that he had to retire. He was loved by all who met him. He was best known for his dedication to his work, his quick-witted humor, fierce determination to life, his generous spirit and his love for his family and friends.
Paul fought a good fight.
The family would like to thank CAMC Cancer Center and Dignity Hospice, with special thanks to cousin Debbie Johnson and Aunt Brenda Hayes for their comforting care and time spent with Paul and to his very special sister-in-law Carol Dodrill.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2023, at Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home, Charleston, with Rev. Anthony Pratt and Rev. Junior Perdue officiating. Paul’s wishes were to be cremated after the service.
Visitation will begin two hours prior at the funeral home.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.barlowbonsall.com.
Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
