Obituary

Paula l. Abbott-lemasters, 58, of newton, passed away november 24, 2016 at the hubbard hospice house, charleston after a three-year courageous battle with cancer.
Paula was born on august 23, 1958, a daughter to the late louella rose sterling and volley “paul” abbott. She was a 1976 graduate of herbert hoover high school and earned her masters degree at marshall university. Paula was an educator/administrator for the board of education in boone, kanawha and roane counties. She loved her job and her “kids”. She retired from roane county schools in october 2013. Paula loved planning trips, traveling and the outdoors.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, robin abbott; and sister-in-law, joan quinn.
Paula is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, jeff lemasters of newton; step-mother, patricia abbott of pinch; step-father, bill sterling of georgia; brothers, kevin quinn of falling rock and charles “chuck” abbott of pinch; sister-in-law, cyglenda abbott of newton; special cousin, cindy abbott bauer of big chimney; mother-in-law, annette lemasters of pinch; sister-in-law, laura piggford (wayne) of south carolina; brother-in-law, anthony lemasters of pinch; her nieces and nephews that she loved and cherished, christy abbott, stacy quinn scott, jeremy abbott, travis quinn, james piggford, alex piggford, krislyn abbott, audrey scott, olivia scott, gaige abbott and tanner scott; as well as a host of close family and friends.
Per paula’s wishes there will be a private family service at a later date the family would like to thank the staff of the hubbard hospice house for the love and care they gave to paula and family during her stay there.
