Obituary
Pearl sue kagen, 81, of charleston, wv passed away on tuesday, june 7, 2016. Pearl was born in saint louis, missouri and was raised in michigan.
She was a graduate of the university of michigan. Early in her career she was employed by detroit area hospitals as a medical technologist; after which she moved to west virginia where she was a stay at home mom and later worked as an analytical technologist for union carbide until retirement.
Pearl’s greatest passion was her small business, kagen krafts, which specialized in dollhouse furniture, all crafted by her own hands. Her furniture has been featured at several craft festivals and has been purchased nationwide. Pearl has been recognized by the state of west virginia for her craftsmanship. She was also a member of the kanawha valley doll club, valley woodworkers of wv and mensa.
Pearl is preceded in death by her parents, louis and mary fellander, and her brother, norman fellander.
She is survived by her children, brad kagen (his wife anaka), beth zeth (her husband fred), michael kagen (his wife laura) and ruth cohen (her partner joshua tappe). She also is survived by four grandchildren. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to milton and atlas back and rick and mary landers whose devotion to pearl made them much like family.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.M. Wednesday, june 8, 2016 at b’nai’ jacob eternal home, south charleston, wv with rabbi victor urecki officiating. The funeral precession will leave the funeral home at 1:15 p.M.
