Obituary

Philip summer chandler, 73, of charleston, passed away saturday, june 27, 2015.

Philip graduated from the university of charleston, with a degree in secondary education.

He served in the united states navy during the vietnam war and was stationed on the uss coral sea.

He served as a substitute teacher for kanawha county schools.

Philip is survived by his wife of 45 years, pam; sons, brock and brett; daughter-in-law, melanie and 2 grandsons all of charleston; brother, robert chandler of elkview; sister, jean ellis of raleigh, nc; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be 4 p.M. Friday, july 3, 2015 at the goldtown community church, 17549 charleston road, kenna, with rev. Rob bumpus officiating.  a memorial dinner will follow the service.

    Dear Pam And Family Of Phil, Jean And Robbie And Families.
    I Have Not Seen Phil Since His Mother’S Funeral Many Years Ago. We Grew Up Together As Cousins When We Were Very Young In A Close Family Environment With Many Family Outings. I Remember Him As Always Being So Full Of Himself And So Much Fun. I Am So Sorry To Read Of His Death. We Are Unable To Attend The Service On Thursday, But Please Accept Our Deepest Condolences To You And Your Families.
