Obituary
Ralph W. Burchett, 85, of South Charleston, WV, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2023, in Hospice at CAMC Memorial, with his loving wife, Patricia, by his side.
Ralph was a brilliant, kind, and generous husband, father and grandfather whose memory is treasured by many.
He graduated salutatorian from Winfield High School and went on to graduate from Morris Harvey College. Ralph was a Navy veteran, a degreed physicist, a professional engineer, and computer scientist. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he sat on many boards. He was an enormous fan of science fiction novels and movies. Even with Ralph’s many accomplishments, he was a genuinely modest man and lifelong problem solver for many.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Hospice workers Kayla, Stephanie and Jennifer.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024, at First United Methodist Church, 905 Glendale Avenue, South Charleston, WV, 25303.

Ralph and I worked together during my best years at UCC. Sorry I was unaware of his passing. A finer man I have never known. God give peace to him, his wonderful wife Pat and the rest of his family

Pat, I’m so sorry for your lost. I worked with Ralph at Carbide. He was always such a pleasant man and I always was uplifted after chatting with him. Nothing seemed to ruffle his feathers. I wish I could be more like that.
