Obituary

Rebecca Ann Smith, 62, of Charleston, WV, passed away peacefully at her home on July 24, 2026.

Becky is the daughter of Allen and Barbara (Paxton) Sims. She attended Winfield High School in Putnam County. She was a customer service representative for more than 20 years.

Becky was preceded in death by her father, Allen Sims; maternal grandparents, Hattie and Clarence (Tubby) Paxton; paternal grandparents, Frank and Sidney Sims, and her great aunt, Nettie (Ninnie) Fletcher.

She is survived by her son, Steven Christopher Smith of Huntington, WV; her mother, Barbara Sims of Winfield; sisters, Diane Klein of Winfield, Mary Jordan (Donnie) of Buffalo, and Vickie Johnson (Jay) of Winfield; nieces and nephews, Lee Sims, Casey Klein, Jessica Johnson, Dorella Tuckwiller, Michael Jordan, and Timmy Jordan; Steven’s dad, Don Smith, and her kitty companions.

Becky always had a big heart and was willing to help anyone she could. She enjoyed spending time with her son, family, friends and horseback riding.

Private family service will be held at a later date.
