Obituary
Reginald shelton lynch left this life on monday, july 9, 2018 in charleston, wv in the 74 year of his life.
He was born and raised in charleston, graduating from charleston high school (55) and was educated at hampshire-sydney college in virginia (59). He was married 43 years to the lovely doris ann davis of lincoln, nebraska, and spent the majority of their adult lives in san antonio, texas, where reggie was a group vice president of a major fast food chain. He was an executive member of the national restaurant association and was active in several fraternal, civic, and social organizations.
He retired in texas in 1986, and he and doris returned to charleston to take care of his ailing mother, and to be near his golfing friends. At that time, reggie became an elder at first presbyterian church of south charleston where he also taught sunday school. In 2005, he retired again, from the wv department of health and human resources. Doris lost her battle with lung cancer in 2007, and reggie then became a member of bible center church. He was known as a christian and was proud to tell anyone who would listen, that jesus chirst was his personal lord and savior.
He was preceded in death by his father, bernard lynch and mother, eileene lynch, who owned and operated the blubaugh bakery, in charleston.
He is survived by his son, reggie lynch, jr, of lynchburg, va; granddaughter, anna lynch and grandson, bennett lynch; daughter, deborah harris of dunellen, florida; daughter lisa mckinney of ocala, florida and daughter, pamela lynch of greensboro, nc.
His wishes were also to acknowledge a very close friendship f mark and kay butcher and their sons, of chesapeake, wv who was his next door neighbors and who “adopted” him ointo their family and treated reggie as “one of their own”.
Reggie wishes of donating his body to the west virginia human gift registry was not granted due to medical reasons.
Memorial will be held at 6:00 p.M. Tuesday, july 24, 2018 at bible center church with pastor richard riffe officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund at his beloved bible center church, charleston, wv.
