Obituary

Robert Allen Steele, 64, of Chesapeake, WV, passed away September 3, 2024, after a sudden complication of a long illness at CAMC Memorial surrounded by his loved ones.

Bob was a devoted bonus Dad, husband and friend to many. He was a mechanic by trade, but it was also his passion, which often carried over to his personal time. If he wasn’t working on something, he enjoyed drinking multiple pots of black coffee, watching all forms of racing with his best buddy, Sir Reuben Kitty, going out for dinners and spoiling those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Wilda, who passed just eight months prior and left him truly devastated. He is joined now in Heaven with her, his parents, and other loved ones, including his dogs, Destiny and Lady. What a lovely reunion that must be.

Left to cherish his memory are his bonus daughter, Bridgette, her husband, Dustin, Sir Reuben, and a host of family, friends, co-workers, and grandanimals who love him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, likely a cookout as those were his favorite.

Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home & Crematorium will be handing most everything at this time, but we do ask, if you would like to do something in his honor, please donate to a local animal rescue. That is very important to him. Once at work, he caught a cat in a paper box, took it to the animal hospital, and then found it a home. That is who “Bobbert” was.

A huge thank you to his place of employment, King’s Tire, who turned family. Also, many blessings to each of his care teams for working so diligently. You are all very appreciated.
