Ruth Maree Rosencrance, age 94, of Charleston, West Virginia, passed away on April 8, 2024, at the Arthur B. Hodges Center, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and unwavering service. Born on October 7, 1929, in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, to John E. and Irene M. Reining, Ruth’s life was a testament to the impact one individual can have through a commitment to educating and caring for others.

Ruth dedicated her professional life to nursing and nursing education, where her influence extended far beyond the classroom and the hospital wards. She instilled in her students and colleagues alike the importance of empathy, care, and the lasting impact of laughter and love. Her legacy is one of service, touching the lives of countless individuals who were fortunate enough to have been cared for, taught, or simply known by her.

Ruth’s story is not just one of professional achievement but also of personal joy and commitment. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James E. Rosencrance; her parents, John E., and Irene M. Reining; and her sisters, Betty Dillion, and Marilyn Brazelton. Ruth’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by her loving family, including her son, Dr. James G. Rosencrance, her daughter-in-law, Jackie L. Rosencrance, her adored grandsons, Zachary J., and Austin L. Rosencrance, and her three great-grandchildren, Kora James, Carter James, and Grant Michael Rosencrance.

Memorial service for Ruth Maree Rosencrance will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home, Charleston, West Virginia, where family, friends, and those whose lives were touched by Ruth are welcome to pay their respects and celebrate her remarkable life.
