Obituary
Sandra Elizabeth Squire, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on June 4, 2026. Born on April 7, 1949, Sandra lived a life filled with beauty, friendship, devotion to family, and a deep appreciation for nature.
Sandra was preceded in death by those who welcomed her home and leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard H. Squire; her son, David Di Filippo and his wife, Christina; and her daughter, Marie Frazier and her husband, Chris. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Dominic DiFilippo, Devon Reed and her husband, Joe, Nicolas Frazier, Ryan Frazier, and Claire Frazier. She was especially blessed to be a great-grandmother to Desidary Reed and Camden Reed, who brought her immense joy. Sandra also leaves behind her longtime friend, Diana Kirk, as well as a treasured circle of friends affectionately known as “The Divas.” Their laughter, companionship, and countless memories enriched her life beyond measure. A devoted animal lover, Sandra’s faithful companions, Cooper and Lily, held a special place in her heart.
Sandra was a Master Gardener who found great joy and fulfillment in cultivating beauty. Her gardens were a reflection of her spirit—vibrant, welcoming, and lovingly tended. Visitors often marveled at the breathtaking landscapes she created around her home, a lasting testament to her patience, creativity, and love of nature. Sandra will be remembered for her kindness, her generous heart, her love of family and friends, and her ability to make those around her feel welcome and cared for. Though she will be deeply missed, the beauty she planted—in both her gardens and the lives of those who knew her—will continue to bloom for years to come.
The family finds comfort in knowing that Sandra’s legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the countless memories that will be cherished forever.
If desired, the family requests that donations be mailed to the Master Gardner’s of Kanawha County KCEMGA (Kanawha County Extension Master Gardeners Association) c/o 92 Riverbend Blvd St. Albans, WV 25177 in Sandra’s memory.
While there will not be a formal service, following her wishes, we will have a Celebration of Life reception from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on July 19. 2026, at the Little Creek Country Club in South Charleston for those friends and family that wish to attend to reminisce and support each other. Please RSVP to Christina Di Filippo (304) 550-7036 or christina@homeinwv.com by July 13 so that we can plan appropriately.
Rest in peace mom, your memory will live in our heart forever.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.barlowbonsall.com.
Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
